NFIP 101 - Floodplain Management Workshop
Tuesday, March 18, 2025, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM EDT
Category: Events

You’re invited to Indiana’s NFIP 101

This workshop will meet SEA 242, which requires local floodplain administrators to complete training before July 1, 2025, to serve as a local floodplain administrator. Indiana’s NFIP 101 will meet this requirement with the lowest time commitment of all training options and highlight state-specific regulations.

The workshop focuses on a community’s responsibilities under the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), including all aspects of a successful floodplain management program, such as proper permitting of all development. All community officials (i.e., floodplain administrators, zoning administrators, surveyors, planners, building officials, commissioners, council members, or mayors) who are new or just want a refresher are encouraged to attend.

We are offering this workshop as a virtual three-part series and as a single in-person event at the state government center. If you choose to attend the virtual event, it is important to ensure you attend all three parts to receive credit for completing the SEA 242 training requirement.
