Resource Specialist

Job Description:

SUMMARY: The Resources Specialist will serve as an advocate for the Wabash River and the Wabash River Enhancement Corporation’s (WREC) efforts to improve economic and aesthetic conditions within and associated with the Wabash River. The ideal candidate is passionate about the Wabash River and WREC’s efforts on its behalf. We are looking for an outstanding communicator with excellent writing and speaking skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Promote WREC and partner activities at volunteer events, workshops, county fairs and other education and outreach activities.
  • Encourage urban and agricultural best management practice adoption and complete field documentation of installed best management practices.
  • Develop and coordinate volunteer and educational events, such as site maintenance of installed best management practices, the Wabash Sampling Blitz, the Green Tour, and others.
  • Coordinate sponsorship and marketing and engagement functions for Wabash Riverfest (www.wabashriverfest.com). 
  • Engage in education and outreach one-day events in support of WREC’s mission.
  • Promote WREC and partner activities and translate our technical efforts to the public via social and traditional media including updates to existing WREC websites (www.wabashriver.net, www.tippeconow.com), the WREC blog and monthly WREC e-newsletters as well as writing news releases, updating brochures and materials as needed.

City of Fishers Stormwater Engineer

Job Description:

The Public Works Department Water Quality Division Engineer - Stormwater position is an integral part of the team that manages the stormwater, drainage and flood control infrastructure for the City of Fishers. Responsibilities include: compliance with environmental regulations; identification and resolution of actual or potential stormwater, drainage and flood control issues; and program management of the capital improvement program. Working closely with the City's Engineering and Development departments this position is also involved with redevelopment projects. The City's MS4 Permit (Stormwater Water Quality Program) is an award-winning program recognized by the state and the City takes a proactive approach to Stormwater Management featuring partnerships with State, County and Local partnerships/stakeholders.
